Clemson Football: 4-star target DB Kendal Daniels closing in on decision

4-star Clemson football target Kendal Daniels has released his top-four schools and the Tigers are one of his finalists. Here’s the latest on the DB.

The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class is currently ranked as one of the top-five classes in the nation and the Tigers are beginning to zero in on several top targets.

One position that the Clemson football program notably recruits slower than any other position is defensive back. Typically, defensive backs make their decisions later in the recruiting process and, as a result, the Tigers evaluate and intensely decipher through their options typically before committing.

One of those defensive backs who they are strongly considering for the 2021 recruiting class is 4-star Kendal Daniels.

Daniels, who is ranked as the No. 7 safety in the nation according to 247 Sports’ Composite Player Rankings, released his top four schools earlier last week and had the Tigers in the group.

Clemson joins LSU, Texas A&M and Oklahoma as the final four for the talented prospect. The Clemson football coaching staff offered Daniels back in March.

The Tigers will likely face an uphill battle when it comes to recruiting Daniels.

Oklahoma is considered a heavy favorite to win his services- as he is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Oklahoma- and it would be an impressive feat for any program to snag him from the Sooners.

Perhaps the most intriguing portion of Daniels’ skill set is his measurables. He is 6-foot-4 and could come into college weighing over 200 pounds. His size, mixed with his athleticism and physicality, makes him one of the top safeties in this class and he certainly has upside to develop into quite the defensive back before it’s all said and done.

The key for Clemson will be getting him on campus and it will be interesting to see if the Tigers can become bigger factors in his recruitment down the stretch.
