How has the 2019 Clemson football team performed against the spread this season? Here’s a look at the results against the spread for the Tigers.

The 2019 Clemson football team has had to overcome some enormous spread over the course of the season.

The Tigers have been heavy favorites against every single opponent they’ve faced this season and, in most cases, they’ve won by a sizeable margin.

But how has that stacked up against the spread? Here’s a look at the spreads for each of the first 10 games of the season, courtesy of the Action Network, and the results for Clemson football.

Opponent (Spread)- Final Score, Outcome vs. Spread:

  • vs. Georgia Tech (-37)—52-14, W
  • vs. Texas A&M (-16)—24-10, L
  • @ Syracuse (-28)—41-6, W
  • vs. Charlotte (-41)—52-10, W
  • @ North Carolina (-24.5)—21-0, L
  • vs. Florida State (-26)—45-14, W
  • @ Louisville (-24.5)— 45-10, W
  • vs. Boston College (-35)—59-7, W
  • vs. Wofford (-48.5)—59-14, L
  • @ NC State (-35)—55-10, W

It’s clear that Vegas likes Clemson football and there’s a reason for that. The Tigers are 7-3 against the spread this season and are 4-2 at home, 3-1 on the road.

Though the spreads have consistently been raised over the course of this season, Clemson has continued to find ways to cover the number. Even in the instances where the Tigers didn’t cover the spread, there was only one game where the number was way off- and that was UNC back in September.

Clemson would’ve covered the spread against Texas A&M had Jimbo Fisher not scored a backdoor touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the game. The Tigers also came close to covering a near 50-point spread against Wofford, the largest number of the year.

Overall, you can see why Clemson has become a favorite in Vegas. The Tigers are winning their games by sizeable amounts and the outcomes are rarely ever in question, the only drama is if the team will do enough to cover the spread.
