The ACC Kickoff Football Media Day started yesterday with Clemson football, Louisville Football and the other members of the Atlantic division present in Charlotte, NC.

For Louisville, second team All-ACC cornerback Jaire Alexander and Heisman winner Lamar Jackson were on hand to help get the football conversations going before the season.

When Louisville and Clemson last saw each other it was early last October, and the Tigers won the thriller 42-36 with millions of college football fans watching.

Both Alexander and Jackson played well that night in Death Valley. Alexander led the defense with two interceptions and a forced fumble while Jackson dominated the offensive possessions with 75 of the 99 plays being a pass or run by him. He finished the game with 162 yards on 31 carries and completed 27 of 44 passes for 295 yards.

On Sep 16 at 3:30 PM, the two teams will meet again but this time at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium in Louisville.

Yesterday, Jackson talked about getting another opportunity against the Tigers with The State Newspaper. “I’m very excited. You know, uhm, we played there it was very loud. Fans were all into the game,” Jackson said. “You know it’s our turn now, so it’s going to be a great game.”

And what will it take to get a win over the current ACC and National Champs.

“Finish the game. They performed very well last year, had a great quarterback, Deshaun. And, like I said before, we got to finish.”

When Alexander looks back at Louisville’s loss in Death Valley, he regrets having a slow start and feels that it was the determining factor in the game.

“…….if we had played every quarter like them last two quarters, the outcome would have been different.”

The Cardinals did outscore Clemson 26 to 14 in the second half after trailing 28-10 at the half.

And like Jackson, Alexander is also excited about getting the Tigers at Papa Johns Stadium and the thought brings a smile to his face.

“Definitely, excited. Papa Johns will be rocking live in effect.”

Louisville will be seeking their first win over the Tigers since joining the ACC. Clemson is 2-0 at home and Louisville 0-1 in the three meetings.
