Clemson defensive end, Richard Yeargin was severely injured in a recent car accident. Yeargin fractured his neck, similar to the injury that Mike Williams experienced on the field. While he will miss the entirety of the 2017 season, Yeargin is fortunate to be alive.

Following the incident, Clemson fans took to twitter to express their condolences to Yeargin.

One fan shared a fond memory of Yeargin to try and lighten the mood and I have to admit it did just that for me.

Clemson has a wealth of talent and depth at defensive end. As such, Yeargin’s loss should not hurt the Tigers in 2017. Also, losing Yeargin opens the door for Chris Register and youngsters Xavier Kelly and Lasamuel Davis to earn more reps. I am excited to see those new faces perform next season. At the end of the day, Yeargin’s long term health is of the utmost importance.
