The Clemson mens basketball team earned their second straight victory over Boston College in their regular season finale Saturday night. The Tigers are locked into the 12th seed for the ACC tournament.

Must Read: Potential replacements for Brad Brownell

The Tigers will face the 13th seeded N.C. State Wolfpack on Tuesday, March 7th. Brad Brownell and the Tigers are limping to the finish line as they have suffered multiple heartbreaking losses throughout the year. Luckily for Clemson, tournament time is the time for miracles. March is where cinderella stories are made.

Clemson’s only hope at making the NCAA tournament is to win the ACC tournament and earn an automatic bid. N.C. State is one of the weaker teams in the ACC, as such Clemson should be able to move on to the second round at least.

The fact that Clemson is on a winning streak coming into the tournament gives them momentum, which can go a long way in the sport of basketball. All it takes is one team getting hot and they can make a deep run.

I expect Clemson to come out and play with a sense of urgency from the start against N.C. State. The Wolfpack have one of the top freshman guards in the country in Dennis Smith Jr. The Tigers cannot afford to have Smith Jr. get hot early and take over the ball game.

Stay tuned for more news regarding the ACC tournament as we near Tuesday, March 7th.
