Mike Williams is a big target at 6’3, 225 lbs, that being said Williams does a great job of high pointing the football. In the NFL the difference between open and covered is minute; Mike Williams allows quarterback’s to throw the football up because of his ability to out-jump defenders and his strong hands.

Williams is a sound route runner for a guy his size. There are certainly things that he needs to work on, however, Williams runs slants, posts, and fades very well.

Expectations:

Mike Williams will be a day one starter in the NFL. What he lacks in vertical speed he makes up for in toughness, crisp routes, and elite ball skills. I expect Williams to immediately improve whatever offense he ends up in. Ohio State’s Michael Thomas is a bigger receiver much like Williams and he had a standout season as a rookie. Williams should be able to make a splash in the NFL similar to Thomas’.

Much of Mike Williams success not only in his rookie season, but, in his entire career will be based on his quarterback situation. Should the Tennessee Titans snag Williams up in the first round, he and Marcus Mariota are going to be one of the more formidable duo’s in the entire NFL.

I expect Mike Williams to continue Clemson’s strong tradition of wide receiver play in the NFL. When healthy, Williams is a dominant force on the gridiron. Williams has all of the requisite tools to be an All-Pro at the next level.
