It's been a heck of a season for Brad Brownell and Clemson basketball as he's led the Tigers to a 27-6 record and second-place finish (a tie) in the ACC. The Tigers did fall short in the conference tournament semifinals to Louisville, but that ultimately didn't mean much as they earned a 5-seed in the NCAA Tournament while the Cardinals got an 8-seed somehow.
Now Clemson will be preparing to make another deep run in the tourney after advancing all the way to the Elite Eight last season before getting bounced by a red-hot Alabama team.
Clemson just found out who its first-round opponent would be on Sunday night as the selection committee set the Tigers up with the toughest 12-seed out there, McNeese.
As the matchup was announced, it was revealed that Clemson would be playing on Thursday in Rhode Island. The two teams would meet up on the East Coast which might just benefit the Tigers as they're closer than McNeese to Rhode Island -- McNeese is in Louisiana, for those of you keeping track at home.
Shortly after the date was announced, the tip times were revealed and it looks like Clemson will have one of the first games of the NCAA Tournament.
