Friday was a big day for Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney.

After piecing together a top-five recruiting class through spring ball, Swinney and the Tigers knew they had to knock official visit season out of the park in order to remain near the top of the country.

Well, he got off to a good start on Friday, landing one of the top prospects in the state as four-star safety Kentavion Anderson committed to Clemson over South Carolina.

And he committed with the help of his future head coach.

Just watch:

Swinney answered the phone and you could tell he was excited and then Anderson asked him, "Where we going, coach?" Dabo answered with, "We're going to Clemson."

After that, Anderson unzipped his sweatshirt to reveal a Clemson shirt and he threw on a Tigers hat, too. The No. 2 prospect from the state held 25 offers, but Clemson's biggest threat was South Carolina but the writing was on the wall with a wave of predictions coming in for Clemson earlier this spring and another from On3 just hours before the announcement.

Anderson, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety, is ranked the No. 119 overall prospect in the class and the 10th-best player at his position, per 247Sports.

With Anderson's commitment, Clemson's 2026 class grows to 15 and slides up to No. 4 in the country -- that's up one spot. Anderson is now the Tigers' second-highest-ranked commit in the 2026 class and he joins Kaden Gebhardt as the only other safety committed to Clemson.

Swinney has a big couple of months coming, but he got summer recruiting off on the right note.
