When Trevor Lawrence plunged across the goal line for a one-yard, walk-off touchdown in overtime, it was the perfect picture of grit, sealing a vital 30-29 win for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

What fans didn't see was that the quarterback was, as his coach later put it, "pale as a ghost."

While Lawrence was listed on the pregame injury report, the full story of what he overcame Sunday was revealed by his wife, Marissa Lawrence, on Instagram. In a story posted to her 372,000 followers, she detailed just how sick the Jaguars' franchise QB was in the hours leading up to kickoff.

"I couldn't be more proud of you, Trev," Marissa wrote. "We both were up alllll night so sick and I've been down so baddd today. I have no clue how he went and played a game... this is just crazy! You're so strong and such a good leader. Proud to be in your corner."

'Throwing Up All Night and All Morning'

Jaguars head coach Liam Coen confirmed the story, painting a grim picture of Lawrence's condition throughout the day.

"He was throwing up all night and all morning," Coen told reporters postgame. "He was pale as a ghost throughout the whole game."

Despite the severe illness, Lawrence gutted out the performance, completing 23 of 34 passes for 220 yards. After an early interception at the goal line, he rallied, leading the team back from a 23-20 deficit to set up a game-tying field goal before ultimately sealing the win with his legs in overtime.

"I was very proud of the way he responded," Coen said. "When the game was on the line, he competed his tail off."

The hard-fought victory improves the Jaguars to 5-3, keeping their playoff hopes firmly alive as they turn their attention to a critical divisional matchup with the Houston Texans next Sunday.
