No. 9 LSU fans took celebrating to a unique level on Saturday after the SEC Tigers knocked off No. 4 Clemson at Memorial Stadium.

Because Clemson allows fans on the field for the “Gathering at the Paw,” it also means fans of other teams can set foot on Frank Howard Field. LSU faithful did just that, holding their own gathering in the end zone after a 17-10 road victory.

What a moment that had to be for LSU fans. Dancing in front of the band. Taking pictures and videos while living it up. Even the mascot got in on the action.

Clemson fans aren’t going to like this, and they shouldn’t. It's a tough watch for the ACC Tigers. They should be angry. That's their home. You have to protect it.

However, to the victor go the spoils. This game had a ton of hype and meant a lot to both sides. The better team won.

Obviously, they didn’t want to see LSU fans enjoying themselves postgame, but the Clemson players and coaches didn’t do enough to stop them, even if the crowd showed up and did everything they could to bring the energy.

Clemson failed to execute when it had to, while LSU made big plays in big moments. It’s happened at a heavy frequency against SEC teams lately, but LSU earned this moment. And a fan base known for partying threw a big old shindig for the world to see.

But, hey, this is part of college football. It’s what makes the sport different. This could never happen after the Chiefs beat the Bills in Buffalo. NFL policies would never allow fans out there.

Let it sting. It’s part of losing. It’s also a motivation to not let it happen again. You best believe every team that comes into Death Valley will want to do the same thing.
