Weston Wilson is a man of historic “firsts.”
Everything from his first career plate homer to hitting for the 10th cycle in Phillies history in 2024, former Clemson Tiger, Wilson has made it clear he can and should be on a Major League roster.
He kept serving as Philadelphia’s primary insurance policy going into 2025, taking six different positions as well as tossing a scoreless inning on the mound. While his .198 average in 2025 matched a player struggling with irregular playing time on occasion, he is nevertheless there – his Triple-A season (30-30 in 2023) and performance in other teams indicates that power and pace is still very much alive.
2026 Season Preview: Wilson starts 2026 in a similar position going into 2026, however with the Baltimore Orioles, after he was traded from Philadelphia, fighting for his utility innings in a crowded infield. He’s pre-arbitration eligible, meaning he’s an affordable but exceedingly versatile player.
There is more to Wilson’s bounce between Triple-A Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia and now to Baltimore— he would be the first man called up for any injury in infield or outfield. If Wilson can manage to bridge the gap between his dominance in Triple-A and his consistency in MLB, he has the potential to earn over 250 plate appearances, as the Orioles press forth on their long October run.
