Grab your orange and pile those chips high, Tiger faithful. The national disrespect is louder than ever, and it’s time to wear it like a badge.
Nine Tigers off to the NFL. Chad Morris back in the fold. And still, the so-called experts are sleeping on Dabo and Clemson. USA TODAY just dropped their ACC rankings, and somehow, they’ve got the Tigers sitting at No. 7. That’s right—seventh. Like we’re just another team on the outside looking in after last year’s 7-6 reset.
The Vizzina Gamble?
All the talk is about Dabo refusing to chase a transfer portal quick fix at quarterback. Instead, he’s rolling with Christopher Vizzina, handing him the keys to a Chad Morris offense that’s hungry to bring back the fireworks.
"The decision not to pursue an experienced transfer could end up dooming the Tigers’ season," USA TODAY’s Paul Myerberg claimed. "Or it could prove the right call if Vizzina can connect regularly with one of the nation's best receiver groups that includes T.J. Moore...and Bryant Wesco Jr."
The media calls it a gamble. In Tiger Town, we call it belief—in two of the best young receivers in America and a quarterback who dropped 300-plus yards in his very first start.
Offseason Noise and Roster Turnover
Sure, it’s been a wild offseason—11 starters gone to the NFL or graduation. ESPN even had the nerve to call Clemson’s offseason just the 11th-best in the ACC, pointing to the Luke Ferrelli saga and a few portal exits like Khalil Barnes, Ricardo Jones, and Stephiylan Green.
But here’s the thing: the numbers say opportunity. CBS has Clemson 35th in the country for returning snaps. We’re swapping out senior stars for blue-chip talent that’s been itching to show what they can do.
Looking at the Gauntlet
The road back to the ACC throne isn’t a cakewalk. Miami sits atop the preseason rankings, with SMU, Louisville, NC State, and Georgia Tech right behind. Only Georgia Tech shows up on Clemson’s 2026 schedule, so the Tigers will have to make every game count.
Look at the experience gap: Virginia Tech brings back 62% of their snaps, good for 4th in the nation. Meanwhile, Florida State and North Carolina are staring down major rebuilds, ranking 116th and 111th in returning snaps. The Tigers aren’t the only ones reloading.
Dabo’s always said Clemson shines brightest when its back is against the wall. Getting slapped with a No. 7 ranking in our own league? That’s just more fuel for a young, hungry roster ready to remind everyone that the standard in Tiger Town never changes.
