Ja'Marr Chase was named to the Pro Bowl for the fifth consecutive season this week, but the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver used the announcement to call attention to a notable omission.

Chase publicly questioned why teammate Tee Higgins was not selected to the AFC Pro Bowl roster, posting on social media Wednesday in support of the veteran receiver.

Higgins was not named to the initial Pro Bowl roster but was selected as a second alternate, leaving open the possibility he could still be added if roster spots open.

Pro Bowl rosters are determined by a combined vote of fans, players and coaches.

In 13 games this season, Higgins recorded 49 receptions for 720 yards and is tied for third in the NFL — and leads the AFC — with 10 touchdown catches. He missed multiple games due to concussions. Chase, meanwhile, finished the season with 110 receptions for 1,256 yards and five touchdowns.

The AFC wide receivers selected to the Pro Bowl were Nico Collins (Houston), Zay Flowers (Baltimore) and Courtland Sutton (Denver), joining Chase as selections.

FOX Sports NFL reporter Greg Auman cited Higgins as one of the league’s most notable Pro Bowl snubs, pointing to his touchdown production relative to other AFC receivers.

Higgins has never been selected to a Pro Bowl despite consistent production over his six NFL seasons. Entering 2025, he had recorded 330 career receptions for 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns in 70 regular-season games. He has surpassed 900 receiving yards in four of his first five seasons, including consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns in 2021 and 2022.

Higgins was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and signed a four-year contract extension with the team in March.
