Yesterday was a roller coaster of emotions for Tiger fans. It started with the hope of reaching the College Football Playoffs with a win against South Carolina, followed by the disappointment of losing that opportunity. Then, Syracuse turned our frowns upside down.
In order for Clemson to reach the ACC Championship — therefore, keeping its CFP hopes alive — Miami needed to lose to Syracuse. The Orangeman fought back from a 21-0 deficit against the No. 6 team in the country to pull off the upset, putting the Tigers in the title match against SMU.
That fact wasn't lost on Syracuse's head coach, Fran Brown. During his on-field interview after the comeback victory, Brown had a humorous message for Clemson's head coach, Dabo Swinney.
"Hey, Dabo Swinney. Congrats. I got you in baby," said the first-year head coach. In a day filled with upsets, Syracuse's game was in primetime, and giving the nod to Swinney in the biggest win of his short career was really cool to see.
Clemson will take on SMU on December 7 at 8:00 PM ET for the ACC title and an automatic bid to the first 12-team College Football Playoffs.
