What the heck is going on right now? Just a week after entering his name into the transfer portal following a successful senior season with the hoops team, Ian Schieffelin is rumored to be flirting with joining the Clemson football team.
While it's almost impossible to say how valid these rumors are, it's something that Dabo Swinney has jokingly spoken about in the past.
But a paywalled report from TigerIllustrated, hinted at the possibility of Schieffelin joining the team.

This would be a pleasant surprise for fans as Schieffelin was one of the favorites on the hoops team for a few years and getting to cheer for him for another year would be welcomed.
Schieffelin averaged 12.4 points and 9.4 rebounds this past season and then exhausted his eligibility but put his name in the portal just in case the NCAA changed its rule to allow a fifth year. Now, the rumors are swirling that he might join Swinney on the gridiron for his final season at maybe the tight end or defensive end spot.
Standing 6-foot-8 and weighing about 240 pounds, it feels like Schieffelin could be a solid tight end and his size would cause major problems for defense. Well, his size and the fact that he's athletic and can probably make plays that guys his size in pads don't normally make.
I don't know about you, but this would get me fired up for the 2025 season even more. Imagine Schieffelin catching touchdown passes from Cade Klubnik for a playoff team?
Crazier things have happened, but this would be up there.
