The Tampa Bay Rays signed infielder Logan Davidson to a minor-league contract Monday that includes an invitation to major league spring training, according to a report from Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston.

The move gives Davidson a chance to compete for an Opening Day roster spot as the Rays continue to evaluate options across the infield during camp.

Looking for a Reset

Davidson split time between the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels during the 2025 season, appearing in 19 major league games. He hit .167 with one home run, four RBIs and three runs scored while bouncing between organizations.

While the offensive numbers were limited in a small sample, Davidson’s appeal lies in his defensive versatility and former prospect pedigree — traits the Rays have often maximized through development and matchup-based usage.

Opportunity in Camp

With a non-roster invitation to big-league camp, Davidson will have the opportunity to make an impression during spring training and position himself as a depth option capable of covering multiple infield spots.

For Tampa Bay, the signing represents a low-risk addition with potential value if Davidson can regain form at the plate and provide reliable defense.

For Davidson, it’s a fresh opportunity — and a clear path to compete.
