For many fans, the NFL Scouting Combine is a highlight of the football offseason. That's when college prospects head to Indianapolis, Indiana to showcase their skills in front of executives and scouts from every franchise.

This week, the NFL handed out invitations to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine and six Clemson football players got the call. Let's take a look at who is going to be headed to Indianapolis.

The Clemson football players headed to the NFL Combine

Of course, corner Nate Wiggins is going to be at the combine. He's one of the top prospects in this year's draft class and a sure-fire first round draft pick.

In many mock drafts, Wiggins is projected to be selected near the middle to end of the first round. In fact, Eric Edholm of NFL.com recently mocked him to the Houston Texans at pick No. 23.

Another Tiger headed to the combine is running back Will Shipley. After racking up 3,350 total yards from scrimmage and 33 total touchdowns in three seasons at Clemson, he's now trying to earn a shot at the next level.

Senior edge rusher Xavier Thomas will be trying to impress scouts at the combine as well. He ended his six years with the Tigers having accrued 116 total tackles and 18 sacks.

Both of the 2023 starting defensive tackles, Tyler Davis and Ruke Orhorhoro are also going to be evaluated in Indy. Davis had 145 tackles and 16.0 sacks during his time at Clemson while Orhorhoro finished with 88 total tackles and 12.0 sacks.

Many scouts will want to see linebacker Jeremiah Trotter in Indy as well. In just three college seasons, he racked up 192 tackles and 13.0 sacks.

In three of the past four years, Clemson has had at least five players drafted. The only outlier was 2022 when only two Tigers (Andrew Booth in the second round and Baylon Spector in the seventh round) were taken.

This year, that trend should continue with six Tigers headed to the combine and all expected to have their names called at the draft. It's a sign that Dabo Swinney continues to find and develop NFL talent as well as just about any coach in the nation.
