Clemson Baseball defeated Coastal Carolina for the second time this weekend to win the Clemson Regional and advance in the NCAA Tournament.

This is the first time the Tigers have won a Regional since 2010. That was also the last time Clemson hosted a Super Regional or earned a spot in the College World Series.

Ethan Darden pitched 5.1 innings for the Tigers in one of his best outings of the season. Reed Garris pitched 3 innings in relief before running into some trouble in the top of the 8th. Austin Gordon came on to finish the game.

Jacob Hinderleider continued his fantastic weekend with three RBIs. Alden Mathes contributed three RBIs as well.

The Chanticleers pulled within a run in the top of the 8thinning with two home runs that plated three runs. Clemson responded with six runs in the bottom of the inning, fueled by Cam Cannerella’s home run blast.

As a top 8 seed, Clemson will now host a Super Regional, which is a best-of-three series for a spot in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. The Tigers will host the winner of the Stillwater Regional, which will be decided today in an elimination game between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Florida Gators.

Clemson placed five players on the All-Regional team. Hinderleider was a unanimous selection and named Most Valuable Player of the Regional. Cannerella, Tristan Bissetta, Tristan Smith, and Jack Crichton were also named to the squad.

Eleven spots in the Super Regionals have been claimed with five more to be decided today in elimination games

Ten other teams advanced to the Super Regionals, including some very familiar names: Florida State, Georgia, Kansas State, Kentucky, NC State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia, and West Virginia.

In addition to Stillwater, the following Regionals will be decided today in elimination games:

Chapel Hill: North Carolina vs LSU

Corvallis: Oregon State vs UC Irvine (play was suspended last night and will resume today, an elimination game will be played if necessary)

Greenville: East Carolina vs Evansville

Norman: Oklahoma vs UConn
