Clemson Tigers News: Tigers beat Gamecocks with walk-off home run

Another busy Saturday for Clemson yielded some highs and a few lows, the highest high being Andrew Ciufo's walk-off home run to defeat South Carolina in 12 innings.

Clemson Women’s Golf finished 2nd out of 14 teams at the Gator Invitational: Chloe Holder finished third overall to help drive the Tigers to a runner-up finish. Arizona won the event. Florida, Ole Miss, and UCF were right behind Clemson. The Tigers are back in action next weekend in Augusta, Georgia.

Clemson Softball 1, NC State Wolfpack 6: The Tigers started the day flat and dropped their conference opener to the Wolfpack. Alex Brown hit a triple in the first and McKenzie Clark batted her home for Clemson’s lone score.

Clemson Women’s Lacrosse 12, Virginia Cavaliers 18: The Cavaliers handed the Tigers their first loss of the season. Clemson only trailed by one goal in the third period but UVA had a 4-0 run to pull away. Shannon Brazier and Claire Bockstie both had hat tricks for the Tigers. Clemson next faces Mercer in Macon, Georgia on Tuesday.

Clemson Softball 8, NC State Wolfpack 0: The Tigers’ bats came alive in the second game of the day and they finished the Pack in five innings. Valerie Cagle threw a complete game and only allowed one hit.

Clemson Men’s Soccer 3, Duke Blue Devils 2: The Tigers win the spring matchup.

Clemson Baseball 5, South Carolina Gamecocks 4: It took 12 innings, but the Tigers defeated the Gamecocks at the neutral site field in Columbia. Andrew Ciufo won the game for Clemson with a walk-off home run.

Clemson Men’s Basketball 62, Notre Dame Fighting Irish 69: The Tigers drop the road game to the Irish. Clemson had a dreadful night from 3-point range going 5 for 28 on the evening. PJ Hall had 21 points and 7 rebounds. Rubbing The Rock will have a recap later today.
