Ousmane Sylla wins MAC Hermann Award
The MAC Hermann Award is annually given to the most outstanding menβs and womenβs college soccer players in the nation. It is the equivalent of the Heisman Trophy for college football.
This seasonβs award has been bestowed upon Ousmane Sylla from Clemson Menβs Soccer.
Sylla led the Tigers to their fourth national championship in 2023, scoring 13 goals and 10 assists. He scored the game-winner in the national championship match against Notre Dame.
MAC stands for Missouri Athletic Club and it is named after Bob Hermann, who was an executive with the North American Soccer League.
Sylla is the fourth player in program history to win the MAC Hermann.

Former Clemson quarterback Hunter Helms has found his new program.
Helms is a former walk-on at Clemson who earned a scholarship and was Cade Klubnikβs primary backup in 2023.
The Tigers received a commitment from a preferred walk-on linebacker.
Billy Wilkes is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and played at Providence High School.
One of the first preseason polls for college baseball has been released and Clemson Baseball is included.
Six ACC teams are included, the other five being No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 10 Virginia, No. 14 UNC, No. 19 NC State and No. 23 Duke. Future ACC program Stanford was ranked at No. 12.
Clemson Football freshman Sammy Brown has racked up another high school honor.
ACC opponent North Carolina recently parted ways with defensive coordinator Gene Chizik, who was once the head coach at Auburn. The Tar Heels are targeting another former head coach to replace him.
Geoff Collins was the head coach who had the task of shifting Georgia Tech from the triple option of Paul Johnson. He infamously had his team transport weights to his first game in Death Valley so his players could lift them on the sidelines.
