Erik Bakich has a message for Clemson Baseball fans
Clemson Baseball will begin play in their Regional on Friday against High Point. Head coach Erik Bakich released a message to Tiger fans to encourage them to bring their enthusiasm to the games this weekend.
Bakich has been diplomatic but unshy about calling out the crowds at Doug Kingsmore Stadium this season for being too relaxed.
Bakich makes the point that the players feed off the energy of the crowd. He wants the crowd to be the 10th man in the game.
Here is the full text of Bakich’s statement.
Earlier in the week, Bakich called out fans who don’t have enthusiasm for the Regional because of past stumbles in the postseason, and he described them with perhaps the most jarring term possible for a Clemson fan.
Dabo Swinney donates his time to charity
They say the college football calendar is a year-round endeavor these days, but the offseason still affords a little time for Clemson Football head coach Dabo Swinney to dedicate to charity.
This week he visited the Prisma Health children’s hospital in Greenville in partnership with Aflac, who is the sponsor for the Aflac Kickoff football game between Clemson and Georgia to open the season.
Swinney was delivering My Special Aflac Ducks to the young patients at the hospital who are battling cancer and sickle cell disease.
