Clemson Men’s Basketball signs another transfer

Brad Brownell has brought two transfers to Clemson Men’s Basketball this offseason in Viktor Lakhin and Jaeden Zackery.

On Thursday, it was announced that another transfer has committed to Brownell and the Tigers.

7’-1” center Christian Reeves has decided to join Clemson. He transfers from Duke.

Reeves is coming off a redshirt in his second season with the Blue Devils after being limited by injuries. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Some recruiting services had Reeves ranked as a 4-star prospect in high school, while others had him as a 3-star. Either way, Tiger fans need to keep perspective on who he is. Most people think of a 7’-1” center from Duke and jump to the conclusion that he could be a superstar.

The reality is that Reeves is young and fairly inexperienced, so for his first season in Clemson, he will likely fill the role that Brownell had carved out for Bas Leyte in 2023-24: a big who will give the Tigers minutes off the bench when other bigs need a break or get into foul trouble.

Clemson Softball advances to face Duke in ACC Tournament

Clemson Softball opened their 2024 ACC Tournament run with an 8-1 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers on Thursday in Durham, North Carolina.

The Tigers weren’t perfect – they stranded several runners on base in the first couple of innings – but they maintained their composure and eventually drew out a comfortable lead. Regan Spencer pitched a complete game and only allowed two hits.

The Tigers will now face the top seed in the tournament, the Duke Blue Devils. The game will start at 1:00 PM on Friday.
