Clemson’s Board Of Trustees met yesterday to approve a new budget, which includes athletics.
The Tigers saw success in many sports this past year, and the coaches for those teams are being rewarded.
Clemson Men’s Basketball coach Brad Brownell led his team to its first Elite 8 appearance in four decades.
He will be rewarded with a five-year extension and a raise.

Clemson Baseball coach Erik Bakich returned the Tigers to a Super Regional for the first time in over a decade.

He is slated to earn $8.4 million over six years. That includes a bump from $950K to nearly $1.3 million for this coming season.
Two of Bakich’s assistants will also get extensions.

The assistant coaches for Clemson Football will have adjustments to their contracts to cover bonuses for the new 12-team college playoff.
Clemson AD Graham Neff also says all 10 football assistant coaches are getting an adjustment in their contracts w/ the College Football Playoff expansion -- a reworking of the bonus structure ($$ for each win) with that field expanding from a 4 team to 12 team playoff

There were other notable items approved in this year’s budget outside of sports, including the right of way for a veterinarian school.

Clemson University will celebrate the 50th season of women’s athletics in 2024-25. The women’s side started with Clemson Women’s Basketball and Clemson Women’s Tennis, which will both be playing their 50th seasons this coming year. The theme of the celebration is “She will triumph”.
We know the House settlement that will allow in-house NIL is coming. The question is the timetable. According to Mit Winter, the next step will take at least a few months.
