Clemson Baseball pushes Game 2 to 13 innings in 11-10 loss to Florida
Clemson Baseball faced an elimination game on Sunday against the Florida Gators. When it looked like Florida had put away the Tigers in the 8th inning with another home run that pushed their lead to 9-6, Clemson came roaring back with a three-run homer from Cam Cannarella that took the game to extra innings.
Clemson put another run on the board with an Alden Mathes homer in the top of the 13th, but then chaos ensued.
Erik Bakich and Jack Leggett were ejected for arguing with the umpires following the home run. Mathes was not ejected.
David Hood from TigerNet gave us the best explanation of what apparently caused the scene.
Some clarification...Mathes slammed his bat down but did it towards the Clemson dugout. He was warned by the ump, which set Leggett off because everybody saw Caglianone do it and not get a warning.

This was preceded by the ejection of Jack Crichton in the 3rd inning during a situation following a tag of Nolan Nawrocki by Gator’s pitcher Jac Caglione that was a bit too physical in Nawrocki’s opinion.
The officiating of the game was poor all-around, with several questionable calls behind the plate. Even coaches from other programs spoke up about the officiating.
One of the best college baseball games I ever watched. It’s a shame we will talk about how the game was called and not the incredible play of those players. Kudos to both teams. @CamCannarella was legendary. Love watching the coaches give it their all as well.

Gut-wrenching loss for the Tigers, but they had a great season and never gave up, right until the very end.
