Clemson Tigers News: Baseball and Softball open ACC schedule, Gymnastics has huge test out west

Clemson starts ACC play on both diamonds this weekend, Gymnastics takes on Amy Smith's alma mater, and Rowing gets their spring season underway.

Clemson Baseball

The Tigers are now 15-1 after winning both midweek contests against the Manhattan Jaspers. They start their ACC season with a road trip to Durham to play the Blue Devils.

Duke has been on a roller coaster this past week. They won a series at Wake Forest last weekend. The Deacons had been the No. 1 team in the nation. The Blue Devils then dropped a game to Rider before bouncing back for a win against them on Wednesday.

Game 1 of the series is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM today.

Clemson Softball

Softball is also starting their ACC schedule this weekend with a series against the North Carolina Tar Heels at McWhorter Stadium. UNC is 20-4 overall and on a three-game winning streak.

The Tigers won against Gardner-Webb in the midweek following their 4-1 performance in the Tiger Invitational last weekend.

Clemson Gymnastics

The Tigers will wrap up their regular season on the road against the UCLA Bruins at 5:00 PM tomorrow. The Bruins are ranked 11th in the nation. Head coach Amy Smith is a UCLA alum and led them to their first national championship in 1997.

Clemson Lacrosse visits the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday at 2:00 PM.

Clemson Women’s Tennis hosts Radford today at 12:00 PM.

Clemson Men’s Tennis has a three-match weekend on tap. They will host Memphis on Saturday at 12:00 PM. They then host Boston College on Sunday at 12:00 PM, followed by a match against College of Charleston at 5:00 PM.

Clemson Rowing will be in the Cardinal Invite, which will be Saturday and Sunday. The event will be in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Clemson Track & Field opens its outdoor season this weekend in Orlando at the UCF Black and Gold Invitational. The event starts today at 11:00 AM.

Clemson Men’s Golf begins the Linger Longer Invitational in Greensboro, Georgia. The event is hosted by Kennesaw State at Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee and continues through Tuesday.
