Clemson Women’s Lacrosse snags another elite recruit
Yesterday, we noted that Clemson Women’s Lacrosse had received a major commitment from Alexa Spallina, the number one ranked prospect by Inside Lacrosse.
It turns out that head coach Alison Kwolek had more in store for us.
On Sunday, it became public that 5-star prospect Aubrie Eisfeld was also flipping her verbal commitment from Syracuse to the Tigers.
Eisfeld is the club teammate of Spallina. The Tigers now have three of Inside Lacrosse’s top ten recruits for the Class of 2025.
Very excited for this amazing opportunity both academically and athletically. Thank you to @clemsonwlax and those who made this all possible!
Kwolek is doing a great job attracting young talent to the young program and Clemson’s new lacrosse facility has generated positive momentum for the Tigers. The new prospects will join the program for the 2025 season.
California, SMU, and Stanford are officially in the ACC
Today is the day the new additions to the Atlantic Coast Conference are officially active members. California, SMU, and Stanford have joined the league.
The next big date for the ACC is in mid-August, when programs must inform the league if they plan to leave at the end of the 2024-25 athletic season. There will be more on that subject later on Rubbing The Rock.
Other news and notes from around Clemson athletics:
Clemson Baseball received another transfer commitment late on Sunday evening. Josh Paino will play for head coach Erik Bakich and the Tigers.
Paino is transferring from California Baptist in Riverside, California. Though you might be unfamiliar with the program, the Lancers are a member of the Western Athletic Conference and play Division I baseball.
Paino was the WAC’s Defensive Player of the Year at shortstop in 2024.
