Clemson Softball gets preseason recognition

Softball season is right around the corner and Clemson Softball is getting well-deserved preseason love.

ESPN has the Tigers at No. 7 in their preseason Top 25.

Clemson is one of four ACC teams in the rankings alongside Florida State, Duke and Virginia Tech.

Unsurprisingly, ESPN has the Oklahoma Sooners at No. 1, followed by Tennessee and Stanford (who won't be an ACC program in softball until the 2025 season).

Valerie Cagle has been recognized by Softball America as the top-ranked first baseman.

Former Clemson Football player Paul Tchio has announced that he will reunite with Taisun Phommachanh and Frank Ladson at Massachusetts.

Tchio spent the past two seasons at Georgia Tech. He was a 4-star high school prospect when he committed to Clemson. He played sparingly and was not able to make progress on the depth chart before he announced his transfer during his second season with the Tigers.
