David Sanders has announced that he will make his college commitment on August 17th.
His finalists are Georgia, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee.
This means that Clemson will not even have a hat on the table, despite being the rumored leader for Sanders earlier in the spring.
Of the six uncommitted offensive linemen who attended official visits in June, the Tigers will only gather one commitment (Rowan Byrne).
Despite that stark reality, Clemson Football is in a much different situation with their offensive line recruiting in the 2025 cycle than they were at this time last year with the 2024 cycle.
Last summer, their one commitment from the official visit weekend, Ronan O’Connell, was their lone offensive line commitment for the entire class.
For this cycle, Clemson has two other solid linemen, Braydon Jacobs and Easton Ware, in the class along with Byrne.
Most of the speculation by experts is that Clemson would like to have at least four and ideally five offensive linemen in the 2025 class. Offensive line coach Matt Luke has been working hard this spring, but it looks like his work is not over.
The most likely scenario for Clemson is that they will continue to observe the prospects to see if anyone elevates their status during their senior season of high school football.
It wouldn’t be a shock, however, if they invite prospects to the All-In Cookout at the end of July.
Clemson Football likely has at least five more recruits coming for the Class of 2025
Outside of one or two more offensive linemen, the Tigers will probably take another wide receiver, linebacker, and probably a safety.
Dillon Alfred is rumored to be the most logical addition at wide receiver. He announced a Clemson offer shortly after de-committing from Ole Miss.
Linebacker Logan Anderson and safety Jordan Reid have been strongly linked with Clemson Football as well.
