Two of the highest-rated players being pursued by Clemson Football, Jordan Young and Bryce Davis, are both in the headlines for good reasons.

2025 safety prospect Jordan Young has announced his final four schools are the Clemson Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Michigan Wolverines, and NC State Wolfpack.

Young has announced his intention to declare a commitment on October 12th.

Young is from Monroe, North Carolina. He is preparing for his senior season at Monroe High School.

He is 6’-0” and 184 pounds. He is rated as a 4-star in the 247Sports Composite and ranked 89th overall regardless of position.

Young is classified as a safety but has been considered an athlete due to versatility.

"As a wide receiver, has proven to be a tough cover on vertical routes with the juice to create after the catch. Should be viewed as a potential impact player at the Power Four level with multi-year starter upside. Could be deployed in a variety of different alignments, but skill set suggests he might find most success as a split safety."

Considering the receiver talent expected to return to the Tigers in 2025, Young probably fits best with Clemson as a safety. He also plays basketball and runs track at Monroe.

The Tigers are nearing capacity for their 2025 Class based on the expected turnover following this season. That could change if unforeseen events unfold, but assuming nothing out of the ordinary, Clemson likely has spots for two offensive linemen, one wide receiver, one linebacker, and a safety.

Getting a commitment from Young would be a strong way to finish off the Class of 2025. The October announcement date is just over three months away, so whoever gets Young will need to be patient.

It is always possible Young will inform the winning staff before that announcement. It is also possible that Young might decide to push the date up. Most players of his stature announce decisions earlier in the cycle, often before their senior football seasons begin.

One of those players is Bryce Davis, a defensive end recruit from Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. Davis is ranked 59th overall in the 247Sports Composite.

The Tigers probably don't need another defensive end, but Davis is good enough that they would most assuredly take him as an oversign if he wanted to come.

According to On3, including Steve Wiltfong, Davis might be ready to come.

We don't know a timetable for Davis yet, but it would likely come before Young's October announcement.
