Clemson Football finishes ranked in the AP Top 25 for the thirteenth season in a row

Clemson Football finished 9-4 in the 2023 season. In many respects, that is a disappointment because it is a step backward from their finishes in the previous two seasons. The Tigers’ streak of 10-win seasons came to an end.
On the other hand, they also have won at least nine games for thirteen seasons in a row, and now we know another streak will remain intact.
Clemson Football finished at No. 20 in the final AP Top 25 poll for the 2023 college football season. This is now the 13th season in a row that the Tigers have been ranked in the final AP poll of the season.
Clemson was not ranked in the penultimate poll that was released following the end of the regular season. The Tigers were ranked 22nd in the final College Football Playoff ranking.
Clemson defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 38-35 in the Gator Bowl. Kentucky was not ranked in the final AP poll.
As expected, the Michigan Wolverines finished 1st in the final poll following their victory over Washington on Monday night. The Huskies finished 2nd.
The Texas Longhorns finished third, while the Georgia Bulldogs finished 4th, one spot ahead of the Alabama Crimson Tide, who defeated the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game.
Three teams that will play in the ACC next season joined Clemson Football in the final AP Top 25 for 2023
The Atlantic Coast Conference champion Florida State Seminoles finished tied for sixth with the Oregon Ducks.
Eight teams that finished in the final Top 25 will play in the SEC next season, while six teams will be in the Big Ten next season.
Only one other ACC team from 2023 finished ranked: the Louisville Cardinals at 19th. The SMU Mustangs, who will join the ACC next season, finished 22nd.
The balance of the final AP Poll includes four teams that will play in the Big 12 next season, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 14th, and the Liberty Flames at 25th.
