Clemson Baseball lost the first game of their series against the Miami Hurricanes but bounced back to win the next two games and the series in South Florida. Now they will travel to South Bend, Indiana to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish after their neutral site midweek game against USC Upstate.

The Tigers lost Thursday’s opener against the Canes 3-2. Clemson led most of the game but Miami hit a walk-off 2-run homer in the bottom of the 9th inning.

Clemson flipped the script and won on Friday by a 3-2 score. Again, the Tigers grabbed an early lead, but this time they held on for the victory.

Saturday’s 7-0 series-sealing win on Saturday was highlighted by the pitching of freshman Aidan Knaak, who delivered seven innings of work in the shutout. The Tigers did most of their work offensively in the series by moving baserunners around the diamond. The only home run of the weekend was from Alden Mathes on Thursday.

Clemson is now 24-3 overall and 7-2 in the ACC. D1Baseball has moved the Tigers up to No. 2 overall in their weekly rankings. Previously 2nd-ranked Oregon State fell to 5th following their series loss vs USC.

Perfect Game USA has them ranked at No. 2 nationally, trailing only Arkansas.

This week the Tigers will play the USC Upstate Spartans at Fluor Field in Greenville on Tuesday evening. Billy Barlow is expected to start for Clemson. The game will start at 6:00 PM.

Then the Tigers will head north for the road series against the Irish. Notre Dame will play a midweek contest against Michigan State before hosting Clemson.

The Irish are coming off a winless road series against NC State. They are 14-12 overall and 2-10 in the ACC. Two of their wins came against Miami.
