Clemson Baseball earns overall 6-seed in NCAA Tournament, will host Vanderbilt, Coastal Carolina, and High Point

Clemson Baseball learned that they would be a Regional host in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Today, they learned they would be a Top 8 national seed.
The Tigers will be the overall 6-seed, which means they will hold home-field advantage through the Super Regionals if they advance from the Clemson Regional.
Clemson will be the 1-seed in their Regional. Vanderbilt will be the 2-seed and face 3-seed Coastal Carolina in their first game. The Tigers will play 4-seed High Point in their first game.
Tennessee was named the overall 1-seed for the tournament. The Volunteers were in Clemson’s Regional last season and advanced after beating the Tigers and then eliminating Charlotte.
North Carolina was the regular season ACC Champion and was named the overall 4-seed. Georgia earned the overall 7-seed and Florida State will be the 8-seed.
Arkansas, Kentucky, and Texas A&M will be the other Top 8 seeded teams.
Vanderbilt will be making their 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance. The Commodores were 38-20 this season and 13-17 in the SEC. Vanderbilt defeated Florida in the first game of the SEC Tournament but then lost two straight to Tennessee and Mississippi State.
Clemson was scheduled to play two games against Coastal Carolina this season but both were canceled due to weather. The Chanticleers were 34-23 overall and 16-14 in the Sun Belt Conference. Coastal defeated Georgia State in the Sub Belt Tournament before falling to Southern Mississippi and Appalachian State.
High Point won the Big South Tournament. They were 34-25 overall this season and 17-7 in the Big South. They defeated USC Upstate twice in their tournament and Charleston Southern once. This is the first time the Panthers have earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
The winner of the Clemson Regional will be matched up against the winner of the Stillwater Regional in the Super Regionals. Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Florida, and Niagara will be in Stillwater.
