Duds cont.

Tyler Brown

After a promising end to the season in 2023, Tyler Brown has yet to live up to the hype. Against Georgia, Brown had three receptions for 25 yards, which was good enough to be the third-leading receiver.

However, last night, the sophomore wide receiver had one grab for negative yardage. Of all the teams to lay an egg against on Clemson’s schedule, Appalachian State shouldn’t be one of them. Of course, WR is one of the most dependent positions on the field regarding production, but -2 yards on the entire night is mind-blowing considering the opponent.

Barrett Carter

If you look at the 22 players who recorded a tackle against Appalachian State, there’s one missing that’s a bit shocking. Returning star linebacker Barrett Carter failed to record a tackle. Granted, he didn’t play a full game due to the lopsided score, but like Tyler Brown, Appalachian State is a weird team to have that type of performance.

His performance last week was also a bit lacking on the stat sheet. He had three total tackles and two solo. Carter’s decision to return to Clemson felt like one of the best things for this Tiger defense, but so far, he’s yet to deliver. Hopefully, he becomes the LB of old, and his draft doesn’t tank because he decided to come back for another season.
