The Manning Award named Cade Klubnik to watch list
On Thursday, the Allstate Sugar Bowl announced that Cade Klubnik was added to the Manning Award watch list. For 20 years, the award has recognized the best college quarterback in the country.
Klubnik is in good company with 28 elite QBs joining him. Some of his competition includes Quinn Ewers from Texas, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, and Carson Beck from Georgia. As you can see, when the Tigers take the field on August 31, it'll be a battle between two QBs on the watch list.
Some former players to earn the award were, most recently, Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow, Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, and, of course, Deshaun Watson — the only QB to win the award in back-to-back seasons. Clemson is also one of five teams that have claimed multiple season winners.
Klubnik made the watch list despite the hate he's received from the national media. During his sophomore season, Klubnik threw for 2,580 yards and 19 touchdowns with eight interceptions. He had a 126.7 passer rating and completed 63 percent of his passes.
