It is awards watchlist season. Over the next few weeks, most of the postseason awards for college football will announce the preseason watchlists for players who could be in line for the award.

Today, the Maxwell Award announced a watchlist that includes two Clemson Football Players.

Cade Klubnik and Phil Mafah are among the eighty players placed on the 2024 watch list.

The Maxwell Award is presented each season to the college football player judged by a panel of media, head coaches, and members of the Maxwell Football Club to be the best all-around in the United States.

The award is named after Robert Maxwell, a college football player, coach, and sportswriter.

The award is typically given to offensive players. The Maxwell Club also sponsors the Chuck Bednarik Award, which is specifically given to defensive players.

It was awarded last season to Michael Penix, Jr. from Washington. No Clemson player has ever won the Maxwell.
