Last week wasn't the best showing for the ACC. With losses like Clemson's 34-3 beating it took from Georgia or Virginia Tech being embarrassed by perennial SEC bottom-feeder Vanderbilt, the conference looks as weak as ever.

However, Miami looks head-and-shoulders above the rest of the conference right now. And sitting at No. 1 in the week two rankings is its quarterback, Cam Ward. Contrary to their teams, though, the gap between No.1 and No. 2 in the QB rankings isn't nearly as big.

As the season progresses, we'll see how the gap widens or closes, who shoots up the ranking, and who falls off the cliff. Already through week one, we had one particular player drop ten spots.

DJ Uiagalelei has fallen — quite ungracefully — from No. 5 to No. 10. The Seminoles were a preseason top-10 team but dropped their first two games, thanks in no small part to Uiagalelei. Through two games, he has an adjusted QBR of 48.0 after only connecting 21 of his 42 passes in FSU's loss to Boston College.

On the other hand, no jump up very much this week. Kyron Drones moved up three spots even though VT lost to Vandy. Drones had 322 yards on a 66.7 percent completion clip for two touchdowns and an interception. But more or less, his rise has more to do with the others falling than his performance.

If you noticed, two new QBs are making their debut in the rankings, with Pittsburgh's Eli Holstein and Conner Harrel from North Carolina. Harrel is taking over the offense for the injured Max Johnson, while Eli Holstein was named the starter after the initial power rankings. Holstein was very efficient against Kent State, completing 75 percent of his passes for three touchdowns. However, Harrel only played a few snaps on Saturday. We'll have to wait and see if either moves after this week.
