5 Clemson Football players we missed out on in EA Sports College Football

Clemson Football fans were robbed of playing with some of the greatest Tigers of all time because of EA Sports College Football's hiatus during one of the most successful eras in the program's history.

EA Sports College Football returns this summer after a long hiatus. In the years since the last version was created in 2013, several great college football players have come and gone without being ‘represented’ in a version of the game.

This hiatus also unfortunately coincided with the golden era of Clemson Football. Tiger fans were robbed of seeing some of the best players to wear the orange in the game.

Here are the best Clemson Football players we never got to see in EA Sports College Football

Deshaun Watson

Watson is a player that most people agree (in hindsight) should have won the Heisman Trophy at least once during his Clemson career. He was a natural taking snaps from his first game against Georgia in 2014. The Tigers were soundly beaten that day, yet Watson’s potential shined through.

Not only was he a running threat with the best in the game, but he could also throw the ball as well as anyone. He could be a bit of a gunslinger. He had his share of interceptions, but he wasn’t reckless. He had confidence in the players around him. His attacking mentality paid off more often than it cost him.

His personal life and behavior during his pro career have damaged his image, perhaps beyond repair. Video games don’t worry about that, however. The Deshaun Watson of 2016 would have been one of the best video game players of all time. If they are ever looking for fun add-ons to a future version of the game, they should consider adding the ability to play Clemson vs Louisville from the 2016 season as a one-off game option. Deshaun Watson vs Lamar Jackson would have been amazing.
