Another week has come and gone in college football, and week three marks the first time we’ve had a predicted top-four seed lose its spot in the College Football Playoff prediction.

Ohio State, Utah, and Miami sit comfortably at the top of their respective conferences. However, there seems to be real competition in the SEC, with Texas making a good argument to be number one in the league. The Longhorns look polished, while Georgia barely skated by with a win on Saturday. Of course, Texas hasn’t played an SEC opponent yet, but they still look like the better team.

Longhorns are the new predicted SEC champions. Georgia struggled in the first half against Clemson, and now they barely beat a Kentucky team that was smoked by South Carolina the week before. The Bulldogs are still the next-best overall seed and will probably be ranked higher than two conference champions at the end of the year, but because of the new seeding system, the highest second-place in the SEC can get is No. 5.

There hasn't been much change this week apart from Tennessee replacing Missouri. The Tiger struggled against Boston College but managed to pull out a win. On the other hand, not much has stopped Tennessee’s offense, as they’ve outscored their opponents 191-13 in three games, including a convincing 51-10 win over NC State.
