Following a week off for both teams, Clemson heads to North Carolina as a nearly two-touchdown favorite. The kickoff is scheduled for noon on Saturday at Keenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, NC.

The season hasn’t gone well for either team, but FanDuel and DraftKings both list the Tigers -13.5. It’s quite a high spread for a Clemson squad that has failed to cover a line this year. In fact, the Tigers are 2-6 against the spread (ATS) in their last eight games as a double-digit favorite, going back to last season.

Clemson is 1-3 straight up this season. They lost 34-21 as a 17.5-point favorite to Syracuse in the Tigers’ last game.

North Carolina is 2-2 ATS and overall this year, with covers as a 24-point favorite and a 15.5-point favorite. As a 7-point underdog on Sept. 20, the Tar Heels got destroyed 34-6 in Bill Belichick’s first season at the helm. This will be his first ACC game.

Head-to-head, Clemson has outright won seven of the last eight meetings with UNC and covered six of those. The last came two years ago when the Tigers beat the Heels 31-20 as an 8.5-point favorite. Clemson has only been favored by double-digits over UNC in three of the last eight meetings.

Early money is on the Tigers. According to DraftKings, Clemson is getting 82% of the handle and 75% of the bets placed.

FanDuel lists the over/under at 46.5, down from 48.5 earlier in the day. Both teams have only had one total go over this season.
