No. 8 Clemson (0-1) is looking for its first win of the season in Week 2 for the third consecutive year. The Tigers are coming off a 17-10 loss to LSU in the opener and host Troy (1-0) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for Reunion Day and P.A.W. Journey Day.

Under head coach Dabo Swinney, Clemson has won 37 of its last 47 games following a loss, and the Tigers are a 30.5-point favorite. They’re also looking to avoid their first three-game losing streak at Memorial Stadium since 2001.

Clemson is 2-0 all-time vs. the Trojans and 13-0 against Sun Belt Conference teams. Troy is coming off a 38-20 win over Nicholls in their opener last Saturday.

Predictions

Zach Lentz: Expect Clemson to dominate early, build a sizable lead by halftime, then cruise in the second half – easing off aggression but staying in control. The Tigers’ offense should exploit mismatches, while their defense stifles Troy’s key playmakers, limiting them to just a couple of lucky drives.

Final score: Clemson Tigers 42, Troy Trojans 14

Brad Senkiw: This is the perfect bounce-back game, and Clemson likely would’ve benefited greatly from this being the Week 1 foe with LSU slated for Saturday. But that’s not how the schedule makers drew it up, so the Tigers will get their first win of the year on the heels of a much more explosive offense than last week.

Expect to see several big plays from the receiving corps, and, likely, the ground game works better if they stick to it. Troy will have a hard time blocking Clemson’s defensive front, which will be the backbone of a stingy stop unit.

Final score: Clemson Tigers 38, Troy Trojans 6
