Five Tigers heard their names called in just three rounds. That’s not just impressive—it’s a statement.

Clemson football just shattered a school record on Friday night, and let’s be honest—anyone still doubting the talent pipeline in Death Valley hasn’t been paying attention. Even in what some folks want to call a 'down' year, the Tigers keep sending elite players to the league. But as we were celebrating another banner moment, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. was out there breaking down Clemson’s Day 2 trio—T.J. Parker, Avieon Terrell, and Antonio Williams—with his trademark bluntness.

Kiper didn’t pull any punches, handing out big-time praise for the true ballers and a dose of tough love for the so-called 'traits' guys.

The T.J. Parker Critique: "It Didn't Come Together"

Buffalo fans are fired up about landing Parker at No. 35, but Kiper had a word of caution. He pointed out that Parker’s 2025 campaign didn’t quite live up to the sky-high standard he set early in his Clemson career.

“The impact plays were noticeably down in 2025,” Kiper said. “You talked about the speed off the edge – he didn’t show it in the games I saw on tape.”

Kiper couldn’t resist taking a jab at our friends in Columbia, hinting that Parker’s three-sack explosion in the finale had a lot to do with a South Carolina offensive line that was, in his words, 'frankly awful.' Still, even Kiper had to admit that Parker’s dominant Senior Bowl week showed he’s got the juice—if he can tap back into that 2024 version of himself.

Avieon Terrell: The "Baller" of the Draft

If Kiper was lukewarm on Parker, he was all-in on Avieon Terrell. Sure, Terrell might not check every NFL box for size or speed, but Kiper couldn’t stop raving about his heart and production—especially in a year when some Tigers didn’t quite live up to the standard.

“When underachievers were going on at Clemson... Avieon Terrell did [get the job done],” Kiper raved. “He’s not a traits guy. He’s a baller.” Kiper highlighted Terrell's eight forced fumbles over the last two years as proof that he is a "turnover magnet" who will fit perfectly alongside his brother, AJ, in Atlanta.

Antonio Williams: The Slot Sniper

Kiper kept it simple with Antonio Williams: the kid’s a playmaker, plain and simple. Even after a nagging hamstring slowed him down early, Williams torched Duke for 10 catches and 143 yards—a reminder to everyone that he’s a big-time slot threat for Washington.

“Outstanding football player,” Kiper said. “You talk about a slot receiver, returner – has a lot to offer. I really like this kid.”
