Hunter Renfrow has faced quite the offseason.
After missing the entire 2024 campaign due to injuries and being released by the Las Vegas Raiders, there were rumors swirling that Renfrow might be retiring from football. He, too, was shocked by these rumors and posted a hilarious response to the false report.
Weeks later, Renfrow was signed by the Carolina Panthers, and it looks like he hasn't lost a step this offseason during workouts and training camp.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales has been excited about his new receiver and says that he could a great story in the NFL this season, per TigerNet.
"It’s just the Hunter Renfrow that I remember. He looks healthy. I think everyone who has watched football over the last four or five years can remember what he looks like. He’s really playing at top form right now. I’m excited to have him here...It’s a great story that’s unfolding right in front of our eyes. So it’s really exciting to see him playing out there."Dave Canales, Panthers head coach
This is some high praise for the former Clemson receiver who took the 2024 season off while he regrouped from injuries and his release.
Hearing that "it's the Hunter Renfrow" that I remember is an encouraging sign for Panthers fans as well as Clemson fans -- they obviously overlap. If the Panthers can get that version of Renfrow that dominated and broke 1,000 yards in 2021.
Carolina's head coach thinks that Renfrow will be a "great story" in the NFL this season and I have a feeling he could be a Comeback Player of the Year candidate.
