The Clemson basketball team has an opportunity to pick up a road conference win tonight when the Tigers face a struggling Georgia Tech team in Atlanta. But though the Yellowjackets are not an ACC contender, this is still an important game for the head coach Brad Brownell and his team.

That's because this is game one of a two-game road set that will also take the Tigers to Pitt on Saturday. That will be a much tougher test given that the Panthers are 12-4 overall and 3-2 in ACC play at the start of Tuesday.

It would be untruthful to call the Yellowjackets anything besides calling them a bad basketball team. Already this season, they have dropped a home game to North Florida by 12 points. What's more, they are coming off of a loss at Syracuse, which is just 8-8 on the season and 2-3 in conference action and a 22-point loss to a mediocre SMU team.

At just 8-9 overall and 2-4 in conference games, Georgia Tech should present an opportunity for Clemson to keep pace in the ACC race. That's because the Yellowjackets' only two wins this season over teams from a power conference have come against a Notre Dame team with a losing record overall and a Boston College team that is just 1-5 in the ACC.

Of course, Brownell will be telling his team that both of those wins came in Atlanta meaning that tonight's game can't be taken for granted. Still, this is a game that Clemson will be expected to win convincingly.

Clemson will need to keep a lid on 6-foot-3 senior guard Lance Terry who leads the Yellowjackets in scoring at 15.4 points per game. The Georgia native is a 39.2% shooter from 3-point range and he has scored in double figures in all but three games this season.

Despite Terry's effectiveness, though, the Yellowjackets aren't a great offensive team. They average just 75.6 points per game, a full two points less than the Tigers average.

On defense, they are giving up 73.2 points per game. That's 7.5 more points per game that Clemson allows.

The simple reality is that this is a game that Clemson can't afford to lose because to stay in the ACC race and to earn a quality seed in the NCAA Tournament, teams can't have bad losses on their resumes come Selection Sunday. And make no mistake, this would be a bad loss for the Tigers.

Still, Clemson fans should be tuning in to see how the Tigers play in this road environment, an area that needs improvement given that Clemson is just 1-3 in true road games thus far in 2024-25. So here's all the info fans need for this game starting with where to find the game on television and radio.
