With the national early signing window for college football prospects about a month away from opening, Clemson is focused on putting the final touches on the 2025 class. However, that doesn't mean that the program is not also focused on the 2026 recruiting haul.

On Thursday, the Tigers added an important player to their next recruiting class, which will sign a year from now. 3-star wide receiver/tight end Tayveon Wilson has given his verbal commitment to head coach Dabo Swinny and his program.

This is a player that the Tigers have considered a priority. He's held an offer from Clemson since June, in fact, which is very early in the process for a 2026 target.

A 6-foot-3, 205-pounder, the West Virginia native is the No. 2 player in his state and No. 75 overall wide receiver prospect in the country according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings. But if he puts on enough weight, he might become a tight end at the collegiate level. Either way, the Tigers are happy to have him.

In addition to Clemson, Wilson has offers from the likes of Arkansas, Illinois, Louisville, Penn State, Miami, West Virginia, and others. However, the multi-sport high school athlete has given an early pledge to the Tigers.

This is already the fourth player in the class of 2026 to commit to Dabo Swinney's program. He joins fellow 3-star prospects Shavar Young Jr. (a corner from Tennessee), Tait Reynolds (a QB from Arizona), and Brock Bradley (a QB from Alabama). Though it is still early in the recruiting cycle, the Tigers are already getting started on putting together their 2026 class and right now, Wilson is the best player they have landed thus far and he could be one of the next great Clemson receivers.
