Although Clemson football didn't quite have the success on the national level over the past few years that it did pre-COVID, the Tigers have been absolutely dominant in the ACC.

Dabo Swinney is one of the best regular-season coaches in the country and while the ACC champion hadn't always made the four-team playoff, given the 12-team expansion, it looks like the Tigers will be in the field more often than not, especially if it continues the trend from the past decade.

In fact, if the playoff had been 12 teams since its induction, the Tigers would have been in the field at least eight times, according to an interesting graphic from CFB Kings on X.

Clemson might actually be the most dominant conference champion in college football.

According to the graphic, the Tigers have the most conference titles in the country since 2014, winning a whopping eight ACC crowns while Alabama is right behind them with seven in the SEC. Oklahoma has six, Ohio State and Boise State have five, and App State and Oregon each have four. Clearly, Clemson gets the job done during the regular season.

Winning the ACC in eight of the past 11 seasons may not seem as impressive as winning seven SEC titles during that span, but it does show that Clemson has been the best team in conference play over the past decade.

And it doesn't look like that's going to stop any time soon.

Dabo Swinney is starting to utilize the portal more, he has the No. 2 recruiting class in 2026 already, and he's fresh off his first playoff berth in years. The Tigers have been the nation's most dominant conference champion for a decade-plus now, and I expect that to continue.
