Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers are absolutely on fire right now, and there’s no sign of this recruiting momentum slowing down anytime soon. After a week for the record books—landing blue-chip studs Jarrell Chandler, Gary Walker, and Jamarin Simmons—the Tigers just added another big-time name to the list for what’s shaping up to be one of the most important recruiting weekends in recent Clemson history, coming up May 29–31.
Elite 2027 four-star edge rusher Justin Weeks just made it official on social media—he’s coming to Death Valley for an official visit. This is a massive chance for defensive ends coach Chris Rumph to reel in a true game-changer and build the next great Tiger defensive line.

A Physical Specimen for Chris Rumph
Weeks is exactly the kind of edge rusher Clemson loves—long, powerful, and built to terrorize quarterbacks. The Douglas County (GA) standout already stands 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, and looks every bit the part of a future Tiger star.
The recruiting experts are all in on Weeks’ sky-high potential:
- Rivals’ Industry Ranking: Evaluates Weeks as the No. 29 edge rusher in the country for the 2027 cycle.
- Peach State Power: Ranks comfortably as a top 35 overall prospect in the talent-rich state of Georgia.
- Here’s the big thing: Clemson’s 2027 class already has 10 verbal commits, but not a single edge rusher yet. That’s why Rumph has zeroed in on Weeks, who’s one of five top-tier edge prospects set to be on campus for this can’t-miss recruiting weekend.

Setting the Pace on the Official Visit Trail
What makes this visit so huge? Clemson gets the first shot. This is Weeks’ very first official visit anywhere, so Swinney and the staff have the perfect chance to set the bar sky-high and show him what being a Tiger is all about.
The Tigers haven’t officially offered Weeks yet, but that’s expected to change fast once the weekend is over. He already knows what Tigertown is all about after an unofficial visit back on March 25, just days before the spring game lit up Death Valley.
Since that spring visit, Weeks has been a hot commodity, making unofficial stops at Florida, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee in April. The rival Gamecocks are doing everything they can to get him, hosting him four times since last November. But outside of Clemson, only Kentucky has locked in a summer official visit, with the Wildcats getting their shot in mid-June.
The Blueprint of a Historic Weekend
Swinney and his staff have cooked up the ultimate recruiting weekend for May 29–31. Weeks will be part of a loaded group—32 of the nation’s best prospects—all coming to the Upstate to see what Clemson is all about.
Even better, all 10 of Clemson’s current 2027 commits will be on campus, working alongside the coaches to help reel in more future Tigers. That built-in chemistry could be the secret sauce to landing even more elite talent. Right now, On3 has Clemson’s 2027 class ranked No. 15 in the country and No. 2 in the ACC. But if Rumph and Swinney can work their recruiting magic and land this elite Georgia pass rusher, the Tigers could rocket into the national top 10 before summer even starts. The best is yet to come in Tigertown.
