Clemson’s NFL pipeline is rolling strong, and this spring’s draft just proved it again. Two Tiger legends are already making waves as they step into the pros, showing the world what it means to wear orange.
NFL.com’s Tom Blair just dropped his list of the top 10 rookies ready to shine right away, and guess who’s front and center? Clemson, of course, with Blake Miller anchoring the offense and T.J. Parker bringing the heat on defense. Tigers on both sides of the ball, making us proud.
Blake Miller: The Lions' New Iron Man (Ranked No. 2)
The Detroit Lions wasted no time grabbing Blake Miller at No. 17, making him the highest-picked Clemson offensive lineman since 1960. That’s history, folks, and Miller is ready to make his mark.
Blair puts Miller at No. 2 among all rookies, and it’s easy to see why. Detroit’s offensive line struggled last year, leaving Jared Goff under fire and the run game stuck in neutral. Miller’s toughness and Tiger grit are just what the Lions need to turn things around.
With Detroit moving on from longtime stars Frank Ragnow and Taylor Decker, they need a new leader up front. Enter Miller, ready to step in and bring that Clemson toughness to the Motor City.
- The Ultimate Standard: Set the Clemson record for career snaps from scrimmage (3,778) and consecutive starts by a non-specialist (54).
- Miller’s attitude fits Detroit’s style perfectly. He’s got the physical edge and relentless drive that can help push the Lions right back into the NFC title hunt.
T.J. Parker: Buffalo’s Schematic Cheat Code (Ranked No. 10)
Over on defense, the Buffalo Bills made sure T.J. Parker didn’t slip too far, grabbing him at No. 35 in the second round. That’s the 25th Dabo defensive lineman to get the call, and Parker’s ready to show Buffalo what Tiger power looks like.
Blair ranks Parker at No. 10, and he’s walking into a great spot in Buffalo. He’ll get to learn behind Gregory Rousseau and Bradley Chubb, but with Chubb getting older, Parker’s path to becoming the top dog is wide open. Watch out, Bills fans—Tiger energy is coming.
- The Production: Parker left Clemson with 144 tackles, 41.5 tackles for loss, and 21.5 sacks, standing out as the only player in college football to force 5 fumbles and recover 5 fumbles across the 2024–25 seasons.
- New Bills defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard is rolling out a 3-4 scheme that’s tailor-made for Parker’s athleticism. With Mike Hoecht coming back from injury, Parker will get his shot right away to fire up a Buffalo pass rush that’s been searching for answers since 2022.
Rookie Debut Overview
Whether Miller’s holding the line in Detroit or Parker’s tearing it down in Buffalo, these two Tigers are ready to make the NFL feel the roar of Clemson this fall.
