Former Clemson defender Isaiah Simmons has had an interesting NFL career.

After being drafted No. 8 overall by the Arizona Cardinals in 2020, he started 37 games there before getting traded to the New York Giants for a seventh-round draft pick ahead of the 2023 season. It was quite the overall loss for the Cardinals, getting rid of a former top-10 draft pick and a guy who started 37 games over three years for a seventh-rounder.

In two years with the Giants, Simmons saw his numbers dip drastically as he started just five games over two seasons and had 71 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one interception, five pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

Simmons signed a one-year deal with the Giants last spring and now that the contract is up, he had to find a new home this offseason.

On Tuesday, he inked a deal with the Green Bay Packers, according to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports.

This could be the fresh start that he needed as 2024 was his worst season as a pro, appearing on the field for just 17 percent of the Giants' defensive snaps last season and he was primarily a special teams guy. His versatility should get him an opportunity to see the field in 2025 as he can play linebacker or safety and he's still young at the age of 26.

We'll see if Simmons sees his career resurrected in Green Bay because, man, was he ever fun to watch at Clemson and fans have been rooting for him to be successful since.

Simmons won two national titles at Clemson and finished with career-bests of 103 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, three picks, and seven pass breakups as an All-American in 2019.
