Once you suit up in Clemson orange, you’re a Tiger for life—and Tiger Nation never stops rooting for its own. Today, all eyes in the Upstate are on the Northeast, where Del Jones, our former guard, is taking his next big step by committing to Seton Hall. After a season that left no doubt about his scoring chops, Del is ready to show the Big East what a Clemson-bred baller can do.
Jones is chasing greatness, and even though he’s on his third stop in as many years, you can see the Clemson foundation in everything he does. He cut his teeth as a freshman in Littlejohn, then took his game to Radford, where he didn’t just play—he took over.
The Radford Renaissance
In his one year at Radford, Jones was a walking bucket. He started every game, poured in 17.2 points a night, and chipped in 3.5 boards and 3.5 assists. The 6-3 guard made sure everyone in the Big South knew his name.
He shot a crisp 41.6% from the floor, but it wasn’t just about numbers—he led by example and set the tone every night. That breakout year landed him Second-Team All-Big South and put high-major coaches on notice: Del Jones is a problem.
Joining the Holloway Revolution
Now, Jones steps into a golden opportunity at Seton Hall. The Pirates, led by Shaheen Holloway, are one of the hottest stories in college hoops after flipping a 7-win season into a 21–12 campaign. Momentum is on their side, and Del is about to add fuel to that fire.
Picked to finish at the bottom, Seton Hall shocked everyone by climbing to fourth in the Big East and making a run to the conference semis. Now, they’re plugging Del’s scoring punch and all-around game into a backcourt that already boasts All-Met First Teamer Budd Clark.
The Big Stage Awaits
From the roar of Littlejohn to the battles of the Big South, and now onto the Big East stage, Del Jones keeps leveling up. He’ll be in Pirate blue next year, but every Tiger fan knows where that fire was forged.
As Del steps onto his biggest stage yet, one thing’s for sure: the Big East is about to get a taste of Clemson toughness.
