Clemson basketball fans have had a busy month of keeping track of the incoming and outgoing players. There has been much more of the latter, but that could be changing in the near future.
When the season ended, Clemson lost guys like Chase Hunter, Ian Schieffelin, Viktor Lakhin, and Jaeden Zackery to graduation while others like Del Jones, Asa Thomas, and Chauncey Wiggins hit the transfer portal. In total, there were eight departures this offseason, leaving just two non-redshirted players on the roster.
One of the most surprising departures outside of Jones (who a lot of fans are still salty about losing) was Wiggins. The junior power forward was expected to be a centerpiece of the team in 2025-26, but he opted to hit the portal to look for a new home.
And on Wednesday, he found it.
Unfortunately, it happens to be in the ACC with Clemson's rival, Florida State.

Transferring in-conference is always an interesting move, but doing so with a top rival is even more confusing. This is not going to make many fans happy, but the general consensus from Clemson regarding Wiggins is that his Tiger career was underwhelming and he fell short of expectations.
And I would have to agree with that.
As a 6-foot-10 power forward, Wiggins should've been much more aggressive in the post but he struggled against bigger bodies and only averaged 2.9 rebounds as a junior and 2.1 as a sophomore. Those aren't exactly stellar numbers (or even below average, for that matter) for a power forward in the ACC.
Clemson will get a couple of cracks at Wiggins next season in ACC play.
